How lack of sleep affects us?

Hi everyone

Is it normal for me to feel as uncontrollable as I do after broken sleep.

For the last 3 nights my daughter has been ill and has shared our bed at some stage. Wednesday she was in bed all night but Thursday and last night she woke up crying and got in bed to calm down.

Three nights of pretty rubbish sleep has left me feeling really irritable and uncontrollably angry. I feel like the Hulk and could be triggered at any time. I am also a little trembly and a bit unsteady on my feet.

I have been rubbish with lack of sleep since I started getting hypothyroidism symptoms and I have had my levo reduced while I trial Tiromel (my endo knows). It feels like the perfect storm for my brain to rage :(

Is this normal?

I would say it’s normal. Even one broken night’s sleep can make me feel headachey and physically sick the next day. I think I’d feel the same as you after three nights of broken sleep. X

I hope you manage to get a good night’s sleep tonight. 💤🌙💤

I think it’s probably normal. I feel murderous if my sleep is disturbed. I’m ok if I waken naturally and doze off again but if I’m woken up mid sleep cycle I feel really hung over and terrible. Hopefully your little girl is feeling better and will stay in her own bed.

Strange isn't it how sleep deprivation is a trigger for different things, i hope you can look forward to some well deserved sleep in the near future, when a child is ill its so hard when you have to get up and if dad is around 9 times out of ten they always want mummy anyway, lol😆 i lost sleep on thursday as my daughters 13th birthday was the next day.....she was very excited and every couple of hours woke wanting to get up, a nightmare, evenrually 5.30am myself and hubby got up with her, im still drained now but she is as energetic as anything!! Good luck.🍀💛

Definitely. And especially if I have PMT too. I need locking in a cage! Sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture so I’m not surprised it has so many adverse effects. Wishing you all a good night’s zzzzzzzz💤
