Hi, what dosage do most people end up on with Levothyroxine? I know this highly individual but my doctor is intent on ramping this up as slowly as possible so in theory it could take years to get to an appropriate dose. I am currently on 25mg
I read of people on here taking 200mg a day! Is this highly unusual? Or do most people end up on 75-100mg?

The standard starter dose is 50mcg. Then you are supposed to have a blood test every 6 weeks and a 25mcg increase each time until TSH is under 1, and free T4 and free t3 are in the top quarters of their ranges. You might want to get a copy of the Dr Toft Pulse article and show it to your GP
I have my follow up test in two weeks. I am planning on taking in a copy of the NICE guide lines to keep the doctor straight. I am not sure about taking in any more articles as I only have 10mins!
I know I keep saying this, but there are currently only Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) which somehow were taken on by NICE. There are no formal NICE guidelines for hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
You will also do yourself a favour if you are careful to quote doses accurately. Everyone here will understand, but anyone trying to undermine you will pick up on tiny mistakes.
Thyroid hormone doses - such as you have quoted - are in micrograms, not milligrams:
