What causes small blisters to appear on fingers? This occurs to me sometimes. Anyone else with thyroid problems get this? Thanks!

Hi, funny you should mention this. Every so often i get blisters like that on my arms and they just disappear again. Sometimes after a few hours sometimes a few days. Have no idea what’s causing it and have not mentioned it to the doc. But since they don’t cause any problems i tend to ignore it. Curious though!

Is it itchy? If so, it looks rather like contact dermatitis.

Me! It’s variously called Pompholyx or Dyshidrotic eczema, or dyshidrosis. I go through spells of it although I haven’t got it at the moment. I get it on the sides of my feet sometimes too.

Not a lot seems to help. I’ve never quite got to the bottom of what causes it to bubble up.

I used to get these often, in my experience they were from food intolerances. Have you removed gluten from your diet?

I had it once on palms and soles and it was very itchy. It was when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I was given Hydrocortisone Cream and used it for 3 days whereupon it cleared. I believe Hydrocortisone cream was stronger when I had it in 1972, which is why it cleared so quickly. I have not had it since.

Gluten intolerance

Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

I don't have anything useful to add but I found it funny that I have the exact same blister in the same spot. I've never had them before but I have dermatitis & a possible thyroid condition (test results are hazy) so maybe it is connected to that? Oh well, have a great day 💛
