I am suffering really bad with exhaustion I can’t get out of Bed until 11 most mornings now , some nights I dont sleep fully .. but the mornings are the worst for this numb feeling like my life has been sucked out of me ... I’ve been ill for over 3 months with ear and sinus problems had 3 lots of antibiotics nasal sprays now going to see a ENT as I’m 75% deaf now , feeling isolated...

also had 2 ches X-rays as was coughing a lot that cane back clear ... coughing had subsided now ....

I’m wondering if this is why I’m so tired ...

I’ve been on thyroxine for 23 years .. 50g a day Now was 75g a few years back ... my GP say my results are in range so won’t up my dosage but I’m so extremely tired .. and I’ve gained a few pounds too .. which as you know is annoying ....

don’t know what to do .....

First thing to do is pop along to your surgery and ask the receptionist for a print out of your results. In the UK we are legally entitled to our medical records and results free of charge, so just ask for them. Don't accept verbal or hand written results, and don't accept "they're in range" or "why do you want them". If you're asked just say you want a copy for your own records.

Then post the results on here, include the reference ranges, and members will help. Not a lot we can say until we see your results. Thyroid results should look something like

TSH: 2.5 (0.2-4.2)

FT4: 15 (12-22)

FT3: 4.5 (3.1-6.8)

I'm sorry to read of your suffering.

I had such symptoms, at a time my thyroid was in crises.

I had been taking levothyroxine for 25 years. Worked, raised a family, ran a household, etc..

Although I did have thyroid issues; your symptoms seem to be so similar to mine whereby, at the very time of thyroid crises, I was also then diagnosed with Sjogrens syndrome. Thus, I thought I would reply to you.

Sjogrens syndrome is another autoimmune disease. If you Google BSSA British Sjogrens Syndrome Association, you could check out if you think you may well be suffering SS now. BSSA have a telephone helpline too.

You may, or may not, have SS. When I was ill, I had never had fatigue like it (though I know many people with hypothyroidism do), sinusitis, dry coughing, night sweats, constant infections requiring antibiotics, were all new and hideous experiences, for me.

I hope you get some much needed answers soon. And begin to feel better.

Hi NetteAnn

Sounds like you are describing me before my dosage was upped. Doctors originally put me on 50cgm before reluctantly upping it to 112mcg in stages, after refusing to accept it was my thyroid causing the tiredness and diagnosed me with ME! Bizarrely I also had lots of sinus and irritating coughs too. I have hashimotos and when my antibodies are high I feel doubly bad. Good luck. X
