doctor not got a clue?: Laast time i spoke to my... - Thyroid UK
doctor not got a clue?
The trouble is with only TG antibodies positive, and TPO negative it can be a struggle to get diagnosed
TG antibodies can be high for several reasons (including Hashimoto's)

I think he's being a little unrealistic. Just because he's never seen your TSH at a 'hyper' level, doesn't mean it hasn't been - unless he tests it every day!
Well I'm with you on your theory of your gp......talking out his @rse😀😀
Over the last year I have come to the conclusion that many gp's and endo's talk the ancient language of boll....cks, pardon my language😀
lol i assume your having the same sort of troubles with yours then?
I do have hashi and graves but over the year of seeing endos,( I am on no3 Endo by the way) they all are equally as dumb as one another and if your symptoms are not stated in their text book of what they had been taught in med school then you get the famous blah words of "well it's not your thyroid" 😬
We have probably all learnt from experience that most GP's haven't got a firm grounding in thyroid problems. The worst being no medication until we feel really poorly which isn't helpful at all. However by joining us we at least understand how rough you can feel and many of us are very good at commenting on results etc So useful if at anytime you have recent results it's useful to quote those and the ranges. Ranges differ from lab to lab so we need to know what yours are or otherwise we should just be guessing! ideally TSH should be around 1.
No idea? I didn't take any notice symptoms in pregnancy, except excessive vom for 3 months - similar TSH showed Hashimotos, a few tiredness symptoms, excessive weight gain, huge difference in normal range, then ok after delivery/weight loss to 8.9 stone/lower BMI. Second pregnancy, weight absolutely within normal ranges, vomiting first 8 weeks, no Hashimoto's (or obeseness/weight gain just babes) symptoms. Everything perfect. Then, in v and lo and be hold Hashimoto symptoms, weight loss needed, it's hard when there's a stoppage. I asked someone in hospital 4 years ago for a pregnancy test, answer: "Oh"!/ So. Lol Weakly positive home tests (again x 2) 3 and 4 years later. I don't believe it! Is it right, your using them ? Sites such as this take the mickey/some lazy people/users. Sitting staring blankly, that's ok if less motivated by choice. Take things with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't be swayed. Why can't you ask for a referral to your physician? A "comment" won't hurt you, but, aren't they the specialist. I wouldn't know as I've never had any reason to have a consultation with one.
Um, yes sounds like he's talking out of his . . .& @ ! ?
Well
At this point, it could technically
Or medically speaking as
Subclinical hypothyroidism
If your t4 is low enough
Which it probably is
Your right, Hashimoto's is probably present to some degree
