How long have you been diagnosed?
What dose of Levo are you on?
What are your current thyroid test results - let's see if you are optimally medicated, if not then weight loss wont happen.
Are you taking your Levo correctly for best absorption - on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after food, with a glass of water only, and water only for one hour each side? Are you taking any other medication and supplements at least 2 hours away from Levo (some need 4 hours)?
For thyroid hormone to work properly then vitamins and minerals need to be at optimal levels, what are your current levels for
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
I was diagnosed last May, am now on 125mg where on my last blood test 6 weeks ago I am now in the normal range, I take it with water and on an empty stomach, I’m also on vitamin d tabs which I take at a separate time
Also was the nurse I saw so she couldn’t tell me my readings only that I was in range

Are you in the UK? If so that isn't good enough. We are legally entitled to a copy of our test results. Ask for a print out (so no mistakes are made if given results verbally or hand written), then come back and post your results with their reference ranges. Just being "in range" doesn't tell us whether we are optimally medicated.
I’m also on vitamin d tabs
What was your Vit D result (say if nmol/L or ng/ml)? What dose of D3 tablets are you taking? Do you also take D3's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7?
Are you taking levothyroxine? How do you know you are on the right dose? What are your latest results with the ranges?
I was in range on my last blood test 6 weeks ago, not sure of the actual reading I’m on 125mg thyroxine
We don't necessarily want to be 'in range'. We want to be optimal which is when the TSH is 1 or below and a Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the range.
Many doctors are happy when the TSH is 'somewhere' in the range, but we, the patient isn't too happy if we still have symptoms.
Always request a print-out of your results for your own records. If in the UK we are entitled to get a print-out of our results. by the LAW. My surgery charges 30p per sheet. There's only one usually
I think that the phrase “in range” says it all, or indeed nothing. My own experience is that unless on an optimum dose of thyroid hormone (I take T3) I could not lose any weight. I went to Slimming World and was told that I was a liar as I was not losing weight (this was long before my diagnosis). Needless to say I quit. When I got my medication level right I followed the 5:2 diet and lost 2lbs very week until I had lost 26lbs; I use this regime to maintain my weight (one day a month) or to lose more weight. I’ve chosen to keep my face and lose my figure!
You got good answers here so I won't repeat. Only when I was medically optimized I lost weight.
