cost of treatment

It has, in effect, cost me £250 to obtain this latest (3 months’) treatment, including my own private blood test, analysis of results, prescription and dispensing. My treatment is 2 grains of nature throid daily, and 25mcg of levothyroxine daily. Is this excessive? Maybe it’s quite reasonable. Thank you!

I don't know the cost of private treatment but there are things you can do to perhaps lower the cost:

1) Do your blood tests with Medichecks or Blue Horizon

2) Post results here for interpretation

And you could, of course, obtain NDT from Thailand.

I’m interested to know why Icicles also takes Levothyroxine as well as NDT ?

I am looking for a really good thyroid functional doctor around Kent or London if anyone has any recommendations please ? My Endo is ok but he doesn’t seem to know as much as you guys on here ! Imo

Some people do better on NDT as it has a few more ingredients than T4 /& T3. It also contains a specific quantity of T4/3. Some people need a little more T3 added, some T4.

You’d be better off writing your own post for the information you requested. And add some history and thyroid related info as possible to your profile. This makes it easier for everyone to help instead of asking several questions.

I can’t help with functional doctor. This forum will probably save you consult fees by posting what I mentioned above.

Hello Avidreader, I’m not sure why my endo has decided I need T4 on top of NDT, when I was kind of hoping that there was one last increase on the cards which might get me into ‘optimal’...but it looks like we have different ideas about what is ‘optimal’. Looking at the measures they are using, I’m lucky not to have had a decrease!
