Hi, I’m new here.

Anyway, have been suffering from every symptom possible associated with hypothyroidism. L-thyroxine 75mcg has only helped with my night shivers.

CFT, hyperventilation, fever and pain remain the same. Sweating has become a social problem.

Help is appreciated, diets or supplements, a new way of life, anything is welcome here.

Thx

There not much we can say without further information. Can you post your latest test results, with their reference ranges. For a full picture ideally we need to see

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

If you haven't got them, and are in the UK, ask at your GP surgery's reception for a print out, we are legally entitled to our test results under the Data Protection Act.

Once we see your results we can hopefully make some suggestions.

Welcome to the forum! Results tell us a lot and the ranges are important as they differ from lab to lab but another good source for you to read is the Thyroid Uk site-they run this forum. So lots of info on there about taking your medication, when to take other things and other tests that can help you. Too much to take in all at one but useful to know what is there.

Hi and welcome, as posted above you will have to post more information for people to reply. I joined this site and was in a very sorry state. I knew nothing about the thyroid at at. I had the bloods tested posted the results on here with the ranges and received answers. I have been well for over two years now. You will be too but we need more information. How long have you been on medication etc.etc. good luck.

You probably have hashimoto's which is an autoimmune condition. This means your thyroid is being attacked and that is why you have become hypo. There are antibodies that can be measured and it is likely that you have them but you are wise to look at your whole lifestyle. If you check my postings I made summaries of many functional doctors' ideas about what is going wrong when you have autoimmune conditions.

Some of your symptoms are definitely adrenal and when your thyroid is not producing your adrenal glands attempt to take over but can't do it as well. Cortisol is one of the adrenal chemicals and while it helps keep your body functioning to a degree it cannot replace all the mechanics. Our bodies are not equipped to handle some of the poisons we seem to be surrounded by. Your Levo dose is probably also too low or you may need to add T3 for optimal replacement. We have to learn how our body works.

Hi, Yes I do suffer from Hashimoto actually but I still don’t understand the auto immune system yet. I know I told the specialist to test adrenals after having spent so much time researching.

I’m so happy you understand me. Will send my latest test results ASAP.

Thx 👍🏼

Autoimmunity starts with particles leaking out of the gut before it is completely digested. Gluten particles especially look like your thyroid tissue so your body tries to clean it all up because they are not supposed to be in your bloodstream. While the immune cells destroy those particles it may also attach to your actual thryoid gland.

This is also why stopping gluten and maybe dairy you can slow down your immune reaction. The antibodies that come about can be measured with two blood tests. A TPO test or thyroglobulin test could be taken along with FT3, FT4, and TSH. If your TSH is over two it usually means Hashi's. Ft4 should be in the upper third in the range and FT3 which is the active hormone you need to be at least above the halfway mark. If you are only on Levo, that is T4 so it will probably be higher than T3 but you need to convert T4 because it inactive and has to be activated by the liver and the kidneys. If your liver is in rough shape and your iron and cortisol are low, you may not make an adequate conversion.

You can learn all this and begin to help yourself. There are so many artificial foods now and probably anything that comes in a box is full of chemicals. Even produce has tons of pesticides unless it's organic so try to eat as clean as you can. The GMO has ruined our wheat so do your best. This site answers lots of questions.

This talks about bitters and I know it points out that "Solidago, a classic herb used to support the urinary system, promotes diuresis and with this the elimination of toxins, simultaneously increasing glutathione S-transferase activity, a critical enzyme in phase II detoxification. Hi fhrfb, you did well getting all the information down. I can't comment on all of it as I'm not in the medical field but have seen many lab results. You can also look up each one separately as well.

You have typical Hashimoto's test results. Higher cholesterol, very low vitamin D, high TSH, low B12. Also your ferritin is essential to transport hormone and yours is very very low. From Dr. Kaslow: For example, in one study 12% of women with an elevated cholesterol level were found to be hypothyroid using the TSH level. That implies that high cholesterol could represent low thyroid. A high calcium:phosphorus ratio was shown by Melvin Page, D.D.S. and others to be potentially due to low thyroid action. When the red blood cell size as measured by the MCV (see lab section on blood counts for more information) is elevated, one of the considerations is low thyroid function. Features of what Emanuel Revici, M.D. termed anabolic occur in hypothyroid conditions. He monitored salivary and urinary pH; when there is a consistently low salivary pH and a high urine pH, an anabolic state was likely. The details of this are not warranted for this discussion. The bottom line is that there may be a pattern of low thyroid activity not only in symptoms but also in the biochemical state."

You must start supplementing and D3 should be taken with K2. This is a prohormone that will aid your other hormones.

The stool analysis is very high. This probably occurs because of your slow digestion, food doesn't metabolize, and fermentation due to low acid creates bacteria. I've just posted on "bitters to aid digestion" which may work better than what I have normally suggested, i.e. unfiltered apple cider vinegar, or Betaine HCL. Until you get your gut in order you will need some support. You do have some antibodies but not for TPO (Ac Anti Peroxydase: <10 UI/ml) and I don't see a test for thyroglobulins.

Usually antibody tests are helpful to determine which part of your thyroid is being attacked. You know gluten can be an instigator.

You can look up other significant tests here but check for European ranges since this is a U.S. website: stopthethyroidmadness.com/l...

Dr. Kaslow offers good advice when it comes to bloods. drkaslow.com/html/thyroid.html

There are herbal antibiotics but I don't know what you can handle. Berberine, olive leaf, oregano oil, caprylic acid, allicin from garlic is excellent. These would help with gut infections or parasites.

Start taking some steps to wellness, you can do it!

Hi, You’re an angel. I just realized that I’ve been through all this with my autistic son, age 24. Home made broth, specific carbohydrate diet, organic food....

I’m exhausted but I will take every word seriously, pull up my socks and start healing myself first. 👍🏼

Heloise in reply to fhrfb12345

No wonder you are ill and stressed. It's so hard to avoid life, isn't it? You should watch The Magic Pill on you tube. It follows two young people with autism spectrum and epilepsy. It really comes down to brain inflammation for the most part. But our brain is more connected to the gut and what the gut tells it than the other way around. Now I'm sorry I've heaped so much on you but just do what you can handle for now even if it's just your digestion.

Don’t say that, I’m very appreciative.

The only thing is that I’ve tried so many probiotics and none of them work for me or my son. We always get constipated from them.

If you know of a probiotic, I’d be very thankful. 🙏

Heloise in reply to fhrfb12345

I've lost my love for probiotics. Funny, they usually made me go to the bathroom. One expert said we have trillions of cells, what difference can a few billion make? I see the sense in that. You might better go for fermented foods and maybe inulin which is sweet and helps induce your good bacteria to make more.

Hi Heloise,

It’s been a while. As soon as you recommended The Magic Pill I watched it on Netflix. It made so much sense, so logical.

Anyway I woke up the next morning and started the diet with my son. He eats 100% Keto, went through a die off period, the change isn’t drastic but it’s there.

I am eating gluten free bread with my meals cuz I lose weight very quickly.

The only problem is finding recipes low in dairy cuz he’s dairy intolerant.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you the best in life.

Thx Heloise,

Will stay in contact 😘
