Hi all, looking to see if anyone else has gained weight when hyper/Graves. I thought they were going to diagnose me as hypo as I've gained almost a stone but no I'm hyper/Graves. Yet had no reading. On 40 mg of carbimazole. Don't want to take these as will make me gain more weight. Help please.

Graves and weight gain
Meant to say tsh has no reading, confused.
Get a copy of your latest thyroid blood test results and include the laboratory ranges, post them here along with any vitamins levels tested and people will be able to help. You need TSH, FT4, FT3 and thyroid antibodies.
To confirm Graves disease which is an overactive thyroid the antibodies tests are TRAB and TSI. Check your doctor has done these.
Do you have your latest test results and associated ranges ?
We see more and more members being diagnosed with Graves - when after lots of probing we discover it is Hashimotos - which can lead to be HYPO. When someone has Hashimotos they can swing from Hypo - to Hyper ... so do as others have suggested and test for ALL the anti-bodies. Docs do not have a clue ...
Yes I put on loads of weight with graves. I was reluctant to take carbimazole as a side effect was weight gain. But on carbimazole I lost all the weight again 1 - 2 lb per week with no change in diet or exercise
Hi Cats12, how are you doing?
Gained lots of weight with Graves 🤷🏼♀️
