Is anyone suffering from chronic fatigue? If so do you sleep or keep yourself awake (forcefully)?

I have been feeling tired for a while,

I’m a very busy person, however last 5 days I’ve been stuck to my bed unable to get up or do anything. Been hospital 2 times, bloods came back all fine apart from my bilirubin is 19 which is high.

Doctors are not taking me serious and believed that “ I could be depressed”. I don’t think I am, I’m just constantly tired, sleepy and have no energy.

Hi

Did you collect your blood results the other day as per your post a few days ago?

If you did, post them on here with ranges.

The experienced members can then advise what’s going on.

If you can’t get hold of them, perhaps have some private blood tests (vitamins and thyroid) medi checks or blue horizon offer those testing.

Even if your GP states they are normal, it sometimes means they are within the lab ranges, but, it doesn’t mean we feel well.

Best Wishes

Your blood might not be fine for you even though within the normal range. Post latest blood results and we will be able to help a bit more. Noneedfor you to be ill like this

Add your blood test results and ranges. Members can advise

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's. Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .

See your previous list says possible high iron levels.

High iron results can indicate hemochromatosis. High iron can also affect Thyroid causing hypothyroidism

High bilirubin is most likely Gilbert's syndrome

Strength To You . Dr's just Don't Get It . When Will They ??? When patients present symptoms to their Dr's shouldn't it be elementary to run a full labs to see and confirm what the patients symptoms are proved with lab results . And even then Not Always labs confirm what the patients symptoms are . I was just such a patient . I went from one Dr to another each time to be told Nothing shows on the lab results . Since when does a piece of paper with lab printed on take more precedence over what the patients complaints are ??? I'm sure the patient that takes his/her time to visit the Dr has better things to do with his/her time and would rather not waste the Dr's time either . What brings a patient to a Dr is that they are Not Feeling Well . Learn To Trust The Patients !!! When any Dr tells you that your depressed run don't walk . This Dr will Not bother to get to the Bottom of your problem . Try to see a Dr that Gets It . Dr that Respects Patients and involves the patient with decision making on their behave . A Dr that thinks out of the BOX . Stand Your Ground and TRUST YOURSELF .

Wishing You Better days ahead .

I was excessively tired and could sleep 18 hours a day a couple of years ago. Tests at gp came back ok and depression was my Doctors thoughts. I paid private for an Endo who sent me for further testing, all ok. Finished up at a sleep clinic in London diagnosed with hypersomnia and advised to take stimulants for life. When updating my son he said mum you should watch a certain doctor in the house program about high homocysteine which some people have. This was a turning point and as I was already having b12 injections 8 weekly I could relate. Watched the program, did research, took high dose b vitamins and have never felt as good as I am now. Within a week I could stay awake all day. For the past 40 years I had blamed my tiredness on my thyroid as did my gp. Moral of the story .....just because you have a thyroid problem don’t assume as a gp does that it is the cause of everything. Good luck

T4 is involved in the whole folate methylation process: It is needed to turn Vit B2 into FMN and FAD which is needed to produce methyfolate (FAD is also needed for one's mitrochondria to fight cancer cells, provide energy, etc.). If one doesn't have enough T4 than serum B12 and folate can have really high numbers this is called methyl blocking and can raise homocysteine and cause other health problems. So just be aware that T4 levels must be adequate and that for those who only take T3 meds there can be many health problems when T4 is too low. Adequate active.B12 and RBC folate levels are a must but, unfortunately, are not always the solution for fatigue in some who supplemented and raised levels. Life should be so simple.with thyroid issues. You're lucky that it made all your fatigue go away.

My t4 is always top of the rang. I was intrigued about homocysteine and had a gene test which showed my problem...my daughter did tests as well and her homocysteine was also very high with exhaustion being her main symptom. ( no thyroid problem) she is now treating the high homocysteine with success.

Essential to test B12 and folate levels BEFORE starting any B vitamins....incase you have Pernicious Anaemia

Thank you slow dragon that is very sensible, for me I was already on injections but it was not enough or frequent enough to keep the homocysteine levels low. Endo encouraged me to take this root as he said it won’t harm.

I bought the ones he took, they are huge but worth the money as they had right required strength in them
