Rather a vague question, there, R2F. Do you mean hypo in children?

Well, I seem to remember Dr Lowe had something to say about adrenals and final adult height. And, of course, adrenal problems and thyroid problems do go together. But, that was in the early days of my surfing, and instead of book-marking the article, I printed it out. That might be a good thing, if I can find in amongst all my junk, because after numerous computer crashes, I've lost all the stuff I book-marked, anyway. I'll have to see if I can find it.

As for HGH, it will only help if you or the child - I taking it you are asking about a child - are low in HGH. Nothing will help if you don't need it. But, hypos are very often low in HGH, because you need good levels of T3 for the pituitary to be able to produce HGH. Has the person been tested for HGH? Also, you need good levels of HGH to be able to convert T4 to T3, so it's a bit of a vicious circle. But, if you have low HGH in childhood, you will obviously stop growing. If that happened, and you are now adult, I don't know if taking HGH will help. But, of course, the first thing is to get it tested.

So, that's all I can say, with the information you've given. :)

I don't really know, but I have read (sorry can't remember the source, you'll need to search) that central/secondary hypo in children is often congenital and therefore suggests low hormones in general, including growth hormone, which would result in a short adult height and possibly late puberty.

Is this any help? it's just for young children: hindawi.com/journals/isrn/2....
