Current hair loss is from something that happened in your body 3 to 4 months ago. So if your hair loss is due to low thyroid hormones it should start getting better once your hormones are normalized.
I am going through the very same thing. In March I noticed that my blood results had changed so discussed it with my doctor and he agreed that it looked as if I needed a higher dose making it 100 instead of 75mcg.
Actually I should have had my blood test 6 weeks later but kept forgetting to make the appointment. So I only had it yesterday.
A month or so after starting the increase my hair has thinned down quite a lot and is making me think that the increase in Levo is the culprit.
So much so that I started a Foligain routine in the hopes of a result, too early to say yet as it’s only been a week or two, but reviews for the product are encouraging. (From Biovea).
I shall find out my test results early next week hopefully.
I do feel for you though, as I have always been vain over my hair myself, it started to be thinner than it should be on top after coming off the pill in 1976, using heated rollers and getting sun burnt on my head. That summer was like this years has turned out to be, dreadfully hot.
I too have horrendous hair loss. Dose slowly increased and at 100 mcg now. Improvement in pretty much everything, except for hair loss and weight. So depressing. But hang in there, you're not alone.
Hi Annie.... I agree with Ellie.. ie., that the Levo is the culprit...my hair and eyebrows will fall out when my dosage is too high so i I lower it a bit and my eyebrows and hair will stop falling out and will grow back eventually...
