Hi everyone

So i was diagnosed with an under active thyroid in 2013. I started self medicating in 2015 as i still had loads of symptoms. Unfortunately my doctor left the practice and i now have a new one who doesn't believe i have a thyroid problem so i came off my meds with his say so on the 14th of june and had my blood test on the 18th of July. He now says i have a sub clinical thyroid. He knows we are ttc. These are my results please help. He has also put me on 25 mg levothyroxin but wont sign my exemption card. I have also had 2 misscarridges one just after Christmas and one last year

I am really sorry you've had two miscarriages and feel he should have considered this as it can be common with hypothyroidism if person isn't on an optimal dose. Tick off your symptoms and show them to him plus the link after it. You can say you've had advice from the NHS Choices for help/advice about dysfunctions of the thyroid gland - Thyroiduk.org.uk.

You missed out your results but you can put them in if you click More under your post and select edit and add in your results with the ranges.

Don't worry I think that's because it is a photo and we cannot alter them. Go by SlowDragon's advice.

Sorry you have had two miscarriages

It's essential to have TSH under 2.5 when TTC

Also essential to test vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and ferritin

Very good levels of Folate and B12 are essential for baby's neurological development

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's. Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once .

NHS guidelines saying standard starter dose of Levothyroxine is 50mcgs
