This is a previous post re sweating:

I hope you've got the earliest test and don't eat before it although you can drink water. If you're on thyroid hormones allow 24 hour gap between last dose and test.
i have got 08.30 on tues not taking my meds today and tomo will take them after bloods done as i am sure the GPs think its all an act been coming home from work and having to have a sleep asw i cant keep my eyes open
cheers shaws
Get a print-out of results with the ranges and put on a new post. I don't know why doctors are completely unaware of clinical symptoms. I give a link below and tick yours and leave for him to look at.

They don't usually ask for complete blood test.
Anyway ask:
TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies.
B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
are these test all the same for a male ... i know it sounds stupid sorry had under active thyroid since 29 am 45 now not really looked in to it
cheers
Yes, of course. The only problem is that it would appear, to many on this forum, that doctors/endos have been told to only test TSH and T4. This doesn't give us a bigger picture of our health, especially if we still have symptoms. Neither is the TSH a thyroid hormone. We have two private labs that do home pin-prick tests and if you decide to do this make sure you are well-hydrated a couple of days before. I will give a link and if GP doesn't do all, those not taken can be done privately.
It is time now to make sure you have optimum health. Blue Horizon and Medichecks are the labs. Read the second half of this link:-
Post your results with the ranges on a new post for comments on your tests.
Sweating? Join the club! But with us (older) females it's often to do with the menopause, not thyroid, and quite normal! Only answer is to try and keep cool and wear light clothing with cotton in it, not nylon.
I've been getting a lot of sweats lately but not sure if it's due to the weather, hypothyroid condition or merely flushes. Best check it out though. Did you mention it to the doctor? Do you also feel fluey ? If so you could have an infection as well and need a blood test for that.
P.S. I'm from Ebbw Vale too!!!
Hi ebbwvaleboy,
The sweating is it just dripping like water and all over or just certain parts, does it create rashes? Or is there a odour to it? May sound silly but there is a difference. The more conscious you are of it, the worst it gets?? It was almost like someone turning a sprinkler on in my body (it does run in our family) - doesn't happen now and hasn't done since I was ill, not even menopausal /hot flushes. But I never suffered with any rashes or conditions associated with normal sweating.
Ironically, it is a healthy way to cool down and this is how your body does it. However, not nice because of the silly comments people make.
Mention it to the dr but unless you have blocked sweat glands there is likely nothing they can do.
I always had a fan nearby and wore only cotton/cool clothes. It did help. Please drink lots of water to replenish what you lose.
Take care and let us know how you get on.
