Hi

Looking for a bit of advice. I’m currently on PTU and have been for 4 years they’ve swapped and changed medication over the years to try and find best one for me but I’ve had really bad reactions on a lot of them so ended up back on PTU. Well they’ve upped my dose to 450mg a day so 3 x 50mg in morning and so on. This is apparently to prepare me for urgent surgery as they have found the safiest way would be to have my thyroid removed. BUT even on this dose my levels are at 75 and I’m pretty sure the surgeons are going to laugh at me and say no chance to surgery with levels this high. Is there anything I can take to try and reduce my thyroid levels food wise or anything else anyone could suggest please! I’m fed up, the higher dose makes me tired and really aching etc so need something to boost my energy as have 3 young children to look after and my eldest is also on holidays now so need to do something ☹️☹️

Sorry you had no replies - this may have been because your post was missed or because people simply had no information that was helpful.

If you still need information it may be worth posting again.
