is it ok to slightly increase eltroxin dose ?

I was only a little bit hypothyroid when I was first tested. I've been taking 50mg Eltroxin for a few months now and I'm so happy to finally be experiencing some symptoms improving. I travel a ton and haven't had a chance to go in for a re-test yet but after several exhausting years, it's so nice to see some improvement, but not at all. I'm wondering if it's safe to increase my dose for about a week before I re-test to 75mg to see if the other symptoms improve and not have to retest for a longer period? or I could theoretically cut the 50 mg into quarters and take a tablet & a quarter.

The symptoms I still face are difficulty losing weight, extreme fatigue and constipation.

I get crazy anxiety with medical stuff and just hate the idea of going there, getting tested, being told to increase anyway, then having to retest a few weeks later. I want to just increase the dose myself and see how that goes but wondering if there are any risks associated with that. Any insight is appreciated!

You can't retest a week after an increase in dose, it's much to soon, you need about 6 weeks between higher dose and test.

Absolutely agree with Bantam. Always wait 6-8 weeks after a dose change before you retest.

Get tested before considering an increase. Essential to test each time after 6-8 weeks minimum on exactly same dose

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

Also request that vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin are tested if not been done yet
