I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10yrs ago. I would like to try T3 but as this would not be prescribed through my GP I have been advised to have my bloods checked out privately. Could you please recommend where I can have this done.

If you have never had thyroid antibodies checked and you don't know your current nutrient levels, I strongly recommend Medichecks Thyroid Check UltraVit which is on offer at the moment for £79 instead of £99 and much better value than a basic thyroid check. You can, of course, check out the other tests that they offer but as a minimum you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 to know if you would benefit from the addition of T3.

Essential to test thyroid antibodies, FT3 and vitamins as outlined by SeasideSusie
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
