Hashimoto not CFS! I was right!

So those of you may have read my post a couple months ago lamenting being told to stop working etc because I obviously had Chronic Fatigue. After managing to convince the Dr to let me try a higher Thyroxine dose my tests are back. I’m now 1.56 T4 down from 2.17 and most crucially my antibodies came back at 566...

vindicated is an understatement. I’ve had a constructive chat with a different doctor today to discuss how I access better support plus an understanding that what I say I feel pants...I mean it!! Keep up the good fight chaps, positive vibes are what gets me through x

Yes unfortunately it’s a hidden disease and because we look okay they don’t believe how awful we are feeling ... I thought I was going crazy and had nearly given up hope

Honestly I’ve learnt to really love the support system I’ve built with my colleagues, partner and family because the health system has been marred with “procedure and protocol” that has made me feel like I’m needy, emotional and damaged and that I can’t possibly have a reason to be feeling sick. It’s degrading. I’m a go getter passionate person reduced to a whimpering wreck periodically due my own body attacking itself and previously no one believed me till an arbitrary test this month said it wasn’t “normal”... thank goodness for the mercy I had today.

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12, extremely common to be too low when we have Hashimoto's

Ask for coeliac blood test too

Then seriously consider starting strictly gluten free diet regardless of the coeliac test result
