Before I make a doctors appointment , if I’m lucky to get one, to read the riot act, extremely fed up, I would like to know if the T3/T4 combination tablet is available for a UK doctor (gp) to prescribe??
Wellcome all advice
Thank you

I'm prescribed NDT by my GP on a named patient basis. I think this is very rare and I'm already panicking about what I'll do when she retires. Don't know about synthetic T4/T3 combo.
I don't pay, it's a normal NHS prescription that I take to my local pharmacy. They had a bit of a panic when they first saw it but usually get it for me within a week of handing it in. Also, I'm in Scotland so we don't pay for any prescriptions. It's made a huge difference to me - I feel human again. Here is link showing how named patient works thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...
I don't have that information. You can tell GP that you are considering adding T3 (self-sourced) to a reduced T4 to see if that helps you feel better. You will see from the following papers which you can give him to read. I doubt he will prescribe T3 as they've been told not to:-
We know that many Researchers have proven that for many people T3/T4 combination works well for them. The Thyroid Associations seem to have ignored this important information.
I am aware how you feel and many on this forum, due to not recovering have sourced their own thyroid hormones and have recovered or improved their health immensley.
(I am not medically qualified - I couldn't understand - when finally diagnosed - why I felt so much worse on tablets prescribed by GP. I understand now)
