We would need to see other test results before saying for certain one way or another. Ideally we need to see

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

And please include the reference ranges for your tests, as they vary from lab to lab we need those from your lab.

Then your question can't be answered accurately.

Primary hypothyroidism is identified by TSH over range and FT4 low

Central hypothyroidism is identified by TSH low/normal/slightly elevated with low FT4

Autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which eventually leads to hypothyroidism is identified by raised thyroid antibodies.

So you need those other tests done, either through your GP or do them privately with one of our recommended labs.

If you want to be proactive and work to feel more confident in getting to grips with your health it is worth getting blood tests : the 4 above related to thyroid problems as Seaside Susie suggests, but also B12, Vit D, ferritin and folate as thyroid suffers need these levels to be very good ( not just in the bottom half of ranges). Sadly your GP is unlikely to investigate any of these further - I presume your TSH result was thru your GP. Did he/she suggest any other possible cause to investigate your weight and hair problems? From experience many of us have realised it is worth getting these tests done privately by firms like Medichecks, they are not cheap, but far quicker than relying on the NHS( and possibly being passed around various specialists). If you then post your results on the forum ( I am sure you've noticed how many people do this on a daily basis), you'll get invaluable and knowledgeable guidance from its members ( even suggest other possible forums if thyroidism seems unlikely or low priority).

Impossible to tell from just TSH. Probably not primary hypothyroid, but could be central.
