They are saying "it protects against diseases". Would it be able to regenerate the thyroid gland? But I am very open minded about new medical research; I do believe that the body can regenerate given the correct input (vits, minerals, amino acids etc etc). The AIP diet helped me massively

I am very open minded about new medical research too, but at the same time, suspicious when they start talking about 'developing drugs'!

Quote: It was recently reported that a new start-up in America, Casma Therapeutics, received $58.5m to look into new drugs to boost autophagy.

Massive LOL here... developing new drugs. What about the 'drug' - thyroid hormone replacement called T3/Liothyronine ? Find a way to reduce the price of this life supporting hormone tablet.

claiming that the process can be induced naturally by fasting, high-intensity exercise and restricting carbohydrates.

None of which are recommended for hypos.

It's the reasoning behind 5-2, 16/8 and all the intermittent fasting programmes.
