Could someone who knows about these things kindly have a look at my latest blood results please? I think the thyroid levels have improved but I'm a bit worried about the cholesterol. Thanks x

You need vitamin D tested, also folate, ferritin, if not done

Cholesterol can be high due to being hypothyroid

Do you have Hashimoto's? Also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies. If so are you on strictly gluten free diet

Thanks for your reply SlowDragon. I am gluten free but I don't know if I have Hashimotos or not. What do you make of the TSH level of 0.39? It was 1.55 last year. I'll speak with my GP about the other tests.

If vitamins are low it can make TSH drop.

Your GP will probably want to reduce dose, but you might want to resist that, definitely until vitamins are tested

I was told by the receptionist that the GP said my bloods were normal! So I guess she's not planning to reduce my thyroxine.

She sounds like a sensible GP in not reducing your dose.

Yes, I’m lucky to have her. I think my B12 is so high because I’ve been taking a B12 spray along with B complex and eating meat, liver and lots of leafy greens. Also taking blackstrap molasses. It was 350 last year.

B12 is a very important pro-hormone as is Vit D. We hear so much nowadays of alzeimers/dementia but I often wonder if the sufferers have ever had their B12 tested as many doctors think that 'in range' is fine whereas the Professor states that brain shrinkage is due to low B12 with high homocysteine levels.

Very interesting. When my B12 and iron were low I did feel like I couldn't think. I'm still tired now but my mind is clearer.
