Hi, I’m under active thyroid and doctor has recently upped my levo from 50mg to 75mg. I’ve had a lot of coughing and feel like my throat is tight and closing up. Managing to eat ok but this doesn’t feel right. Had these symptoms before upping meds, but seem to notice it more now.woke up the other night struggling to breathe and throat was closing up. Does anyone else suffer with this? It was frightening. Wonder if I need a scan of thyroid to see if I have a goitre.

I think you need to go back to your doctor. Just thinking could be
- an infection or something that was there before and has got worse
- sensitivity to Levo
- who knows if you’re right and goitre?
- allergy to something else
- something else?
Good luck
Hi I have this problem it’s caused by sogrens syndrome, which is common to people with Hashimoto. Do you have a dry mouth and throat, itchy dry eyes?
Hi Rosserk yes I do have dry mouth, not so much itchy eyes though. I will look up sogrens and see what info there is. It’s such a pain feeling under the weather all the time. Have you had any tests or scans to check for nodules?
