Seeing a functional dr who has put me on t3 only due to high rt3. I was previously on 100 mcg of levothyroxine. Also loads of supplements to help with adrenal issues and b12 injections. I have slowly worked upto 20 mcg daily. Tried an increase yesterday but felt awful. I am also on AIP diet. Can't understand why I still feel so bad (probs worse) problem is to see her all the time is so expensive. Has anyone got any suggestions here.

Do you have a copy of your test where it said your rT3 was high? You'll get better advice if you post the results and ranges on here.

It really isn't necessary to stop T4 completely when you have high rT3. Just take it down to a level where it no-longer converts mainly to rT3. Your problems could be due to needing a little T4 with your T3.

When u get in I will post them cause can't remember. Yes I did want to just add t3 but she was quite adoment I stopped and restart later.

Well, just adding T3 won't help, you could have to lower the T4. But, there is so much misunderstanding of rT3, I wouldn't expect a mere doctor to know much about it at all.
