Hi all, does anyone else have a problem with receding gums and tooth loss due to being hypo.

Receding gums definitely, been going on for years. Very sensitive teeth but no tooth loss, lots of exposed dentin. Not sure if I blame hypothyroidism though.

40years if it, resolved overnight when I got on a proper replacement dose of T4 and then NDT.

Really? I have a feeling I am slightly under medicated on levothyroxine 100mcg. Tsh 2.35 (0.27-4.2) and T4 18.6 (12-22). Dry skin, drained, constipation, receding gum really bad dentist concerned.

Low Human Growth Hormone, a pituitary hormone. Hypos often have low HGH because good levels of T3 are necessary to produce it.

Yes. I actually developed SCURVY in 1970 but from being HYPER. The excelerated metabolism could not absorb my Vitamin C intake . I remember the flapping, bleeding gums and the wobbly teeth and being told my breath stank!! Dentist said I would be toothless in 10 years but that did not happen. With the treatment he gave me all those years ago my teeth firmed up and the gums reattached themselves. GP gave me Vit C supplements when I was taking the Carbimazole to slow my Thyroid down.

Hope your dentist gets it treated successfully as mine was.

Oil pulling with one teaspoon of coconut oil. Swish around mouth for at least 10 mins am and pm. Put into paper hankie and into rubbish not down the sink as it’ll block it.

Dentalacidin toothpaste removes biofilm plaque. Liposomal vitamin C., D3/K2, and a good core mineral.. Water pic are a few suggestions. Perhaps also check for H. Pylori as a start?

It would be prudent to also do a full thyroid panel see ThyroidUK including reverse T3 this will indicate whether or not you are conserving energy to fight an underlying infection such as SIBO and or H Pylori and subsequent biofilms.

Hi, I have tried oil pulling a few times with coconut oil and sesame oil, need to try it more often really. I am also seeing a haematology department for high white blood cells and some others that are linked to bacteria infections.

Cheers kev

Perhaps have a look at Quicksilver Scientific ‘s GI Detox Box and /or Purifer?

Dr Chris Shade has very informative You Tube podcast lectures which are invaluable. Wendy Myers also did one on Cadmium toxicity which might be of interest? Perhaps look at Myers detox on You Tube?

I also found the GI Map Test by Invivo to be superb and wish I started there 2 years ago! This needs a Functional practitioner pm me if you require a name.

Occult infections challenge and stress our immune systems and use our valuable minerals leaving gaps for environmental toxins such as heavy metals to take hold. It’s empowering to find out what there are and effectively fight back with delivery mechanisms that can get to where you need it to go.

Best Wishes.

Yes but I had no idea it could be connected to being hypo. Thought it was just aging.
