Shocking story - makes me feel a bit better after being fleeced by 2 husbands

A very shocking story. I have been fleeced by two ex husbands along the way but have recently blamed my undiagnosed Hashimotos whereby my brain wasn't woring properly. Having spent thousands of hours trying to work out what those two men actually did to me financially, it makes me feel a very tiny bit less angry with myself having read this story. This family involved apparently didn't suffer from thyroid illness - therefore apparently no brain fog - and were apparently intelligent and bright, no apparent big stresses like babies & toddlers to cope with on a daily basis, etc. It shows that lovely people who are kind, caring, compassionate & non judgmental get sh*te on by very nasty people. I rest my case.

As they say money can be the root of all evil. The desire to acquire other people's money then leave them high and dry without. It is an age-old problem and many fall into the trap unwittingly.

Human nature wants to be kind and helpful usually but we must be aware we can be conned. Many have been cheated upon throughout human history.

Yes I can fully sympathise with your brain fog, it's shameful that some people are so willing to take advantage of vulnerable people. I had an employee steal several thousand pounds from my business before I realised my befuddlement was down to an underactive thyroid.

So awful I could not read it all .... poor boy now looks as if he has adrenal depletion with those dark rings - not surprising really :-( Thanks for reminding us there are some unpleasant people out there and sometimes the ones we least suspect !

I had to smile when a relative of the burglar who has recently been killed while ‘on a job’ said he was a lovely lad - he and his mates had fleeced pensioners out of their life savings; a very nice person, obviously. It is a sad thing that there are thousands of scumbags out their just waiting to steal from nice, genuine people. I have become very wary and find it hard to trust after my mother stole from me and then told lies. When your mother turns out to be untrustworthy who can you trust? Maybe my caution is no bad thing.

I got vilified on bookface for putting a smiley face next to the article that said charges had been dropped on Me Osborn-Brooks. His cousin was upset with the news. A 78 year old man versus a a person in their 20’s. Appreciated he wasn’t armed but who would know in such a frightening situation. I’d have done the same I think. Robbers are evil enough to steal goodness knows what else they’re willing to do.

I’m sorry your own mum treated you the way she did. I hope it’s resolved with an explanation and she seeks/sought help.

She died a couple of weeks ago aged 96. There was no hope of an apology and I’m not sad about it.
