Can't lose weight after having thyroid removed for a goiter
As requested in reply to your previous post
As there is no information in your profile, can you please say what your diagnosis is and if you are on thyroid meds.
That information helps us to interpret your thyroid results.
The only thing that can be commented on at the moment is that your FT3 seems to be low in range and
Vit D: 35ng/ml
The Vit D Council recommends a level of 40-60ng/ml. Supplementing with D3 and it's important cofactors Vit K2-MK7 and magnesium will help lift your level into the recommended range. It's trial and error, so maybe start with 2000iu daily for 3 months then retest, adjust dose if necessary after seeing new level.
Cofactor information
vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.
D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.
Magnesium helps D3 to work and comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds

Check out the other cofactors too.
Everything else seems to be in range.
Thanks, what about the weight does the t3 look to low I'm not sure why I can't lose weight.
So you replied on your other post
I had thyroid removed because of a very large goiter .
So you are hypothyroid and on replacement hormone. You still haven't said what thyroid meds you are taking.
Yes your T3 is low and could be why you can't lose weight.
But for thyroid hormone to work, and for conversion of T4 to T3, you need optimal nutrient levels. You have only had Vit D tested. You also need
Ferritin (very important for this to be at least 70)
B12
Folate
I take levothyroxine synthetic 125 6 times a week that's only t4 I take vitamin D 25.000ul monthly
So with that amount of T4 and your FT4 result, then your FT3 is too low and you may benefit from adding some T3.
Is your Vit D 25,000iu (twenty-five thousand international units) per month? If so that is approx 833iu daily and you need to increase it to bring your level into the recommended range. I would do as I suggested in my post above.
