How is best to take it? How do you do? When and how much? 3 times a day or 2 and if 2 how do you split it?

I assume you have 25 mcg tablets. I would quarter the tablets and either take one quarter every eight hours or take one quarter in the morning and a half in the evening. Whichever you find easier.

I’ve always taken the largest dose in the morning. You take it in the evening?

We normally have slightly higher T3 levels overnight. I have found the evening T3 dose more beneficial than morning dose. Also, if you find the slightly higher T3 dose in the evening stops you getting to sleep you know you are taking too much.

You can get a pill cutter from Ebay / amazon or your local pharmacy for a pound or three. Most people take theirs first thing in the morning an hour away from food and drink (water is fine) with a full glass of water. You can take it with your T4. It’s important to take three & four hours away from your vitamins and supplements. If you take It at night before - some find it makes them restless. Three hours after food. Splitting throughout the day can be a pain as you need to have specific breaks in food and beverage in take to stop it interfering with absorption. Try it in the morning. Btw - have you just started taking T3 as you should be on a starter dose of 6.25mcg for two weeks. Your body is likely to react on such a high dose. And are you reducing your T4?

Liothyronine is very well absorbed unlike levothyroxine. It is absorbed in the jejunum and so will be absorbed within an hour or two, so you can take supplements an hour after liothyronine but not so with levothyroxine. I find the tablets easy to split between my fingers.

Through trial and error 12.5mcg with levothyroxine first thing then 6.25mcg between 12 and 14.00. If I take any in the evening I have problems sleeping, the same with levothyroxine I have also trialled that in the evening in the past. However I have a colleague who takes her Levo and liothyronine at night and sleeps like a baby, so as always you will have to see what works for you.

I find T3 helps me sleep. In fact nearly always makes me sleepy after taking it. I prefer taking 3 doses per day, waking, mid afternoon and bedtime
