Hi I've recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. I started carbimazole and beta blockers 10 days ago. and am waiting for an appointment with the endicronoligist, My question is about diet. Before this I would'nt have had a big appetite and now find myself eating more as I feel hungrier and would have been prone to constipation. I now have problems with gas which is painful and embarrassing which I never had before. What diet do you follow? My GP says just eat healthy and online a lot of sites say gluten free and soy free. What kind of exercise can you do when you feel a little better?

My husband has hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease and is trying to follow an Autoimmune protocol which is a stricter version of Paleo diet. This diet is completely gluten free, grain free and nightshade free. It is a bit hard to follow but we are trying to have fun with new recipes. Not sure if you have an autoimmune illness and need to follow AIP but you might want to look at Paleo diet. I Definitely experienced less bloating and digestive issues following it.
