Please can you help, new blood results and I don’t understand them.

Hi,

In 2016 I had hyperthyroidism which quickly crashed to hypothyroidism and it has taken me a while to feel semi back to normal. They took me off levothyroxine last year as I was on the lowest dose and they felt my thryroid was back to normal.

Recently I haven’t felt great and so the Doctors have done a load of blood tests for me last week. I got a phone call Friday to say I am folate deficient and have picked up 5mg of folic acid today.

I noticed the blood results have some other notes but don’t really understand them so I am hoping you can help. I have got to see the endocrinologist next week as they want to sign me off their register as they feel My thyroid is fine. I want to be sure this is right, as I don’t want to go through how I felt last time

I am still dizzy, heart palpitations, hot sweats, hair loss, poor memory, achy joints, some days blurred vision and at the moment have a sore mouth and tongue. Some of this I put down to the folate deficiency and low blood pressure.

Please can you help, just fed up of feeling ill.

Thank you in advance.

Your B12 is also too low, and that could make you feel bad.

Have you had your antibodies tested? Sounds to me like you have Hashi's.

But, you can't tell how well your thyroid is doing without seeing an FT3, and they didn't test that.

I had private bloods done last year to cover all of that and I took them to show the endocrinologist. She scribbled all over them and told me they were a load of rubbish! She also told me I don’t have Hashi.

Yes, well, they often say that, but that doesn't mean you don't have it. Have you actually had your antibodies tested? If not, she has no idea. What did it say on your private bloods?

Yes I done the medicheck full thyroid check an 3 vitamins.

I have a copy which is hard to read but I can’t figure out how to attach a photo of it to this

You can't attach it to a response. You'd have to either start a new thread, or type the results out here.

1Lackingenergy,

TSH 0.3 is below range but FT4 15 is just over mid range so you don't appear to be hyperthyroid. Low TSH rules out hypothyroidism. I think it would be sensible for your GP or endo to continue monitoring your thyroid levels every few months in case you are becoming hyperthyroid again.

B12 259 is low. If you have many of the symptoms in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... pop over to healthunlocked.com/pasoc for advice as they're the experts on B12 and folate deficiency.

Low MCHC can be due to iron deficiency anaemia but your iron is normal so it may be due to the folate deficiency.

The rest of the full blood count evaluations are within range (normal).

Thank you I look into the other notice board for the B12.

This is my second check coming up since being of the medication. So unless my bloods are irregular, I have a feeling she will sign me off from them no matter what I say

1Lackingenergy,

Was TSH higher than 0.3 previously?
