Can anyone point me to any reputable online studies or definitions that clearly demonstrate that’s hashimoto’s can cause fluctuating thyroid function (particularly in the earlier stages)?

I have searched myself already but can only really find one research study which demonstrates this. And yet ..... most people familiar with hashimoto’s knows fine well it fluctuates and can cause both Hypo and Hyper symptoms at times. I just need something solid that I ca show a doctor if need be. Any links that would educate a Doctor and not give them something to scoff at would be very much appreciated. Xx

I have had this problem, i think you maybe fighting a loosing battle, my 2nd endo actually rolled his eyelids at me when i mentioned hyper swings and tutted, i didnt take kindly to it and then he wrote to my gp saying "patient seems to think her levels can go up and down due to hashimotos but in my opinion-no!! I wish you look as gps and endos are equally ignorant and patronising.😊😊

Thankfully it’s not for me. Asking for a friend. My Hashimoto’s has completely buggered my thyroid now so I doubt mine will ever swing Hyper unless it’s because of over medication lol x

I would like same I have nt officially been diagnosed with hashimotos but last summer experiencing classic hypothyroid symptoms but told hyper prescribed carbimazole but bloods changed back to normal prior to taking any. Then had 5 weeks of hyperthyroid symptoms . I have high thyroid antibodies seen by locum endocrinologist told it was all menopausal symptoms!

Just had bloods repeated 6 months later awaiting results but feeling more hypo again but prefer those symptoms to the horrible hyper feelings I had
