Got to have one of these - ? If anyone has had it done please share experiences and where it was done by who (been told could be done at hospital) also do you have to stop hrt 6 weeks before the test ? Bit worried as my Gp haven’t been in touch to arrange and I need results back by 27thapril when I next see specialist. Thanks in advance

I had it done at a private hospital, nurse did a baseline blood test then gave me the injection, then 2 more blood tests over the next hour or so. Can't answer the hrt question.

Not really depends if you mind injections and blood tests, lots of waiting around between tests so very boring.

The SST test is discussed on pages 68 - 70.

And yes, it is necessary to come off HRT for 6 weeks before the test.

I’ve had a couple of them recently and they are fine. I can’t answer the question about the hrt I’m afraid but my results where back the next day but it depends if you have access to them if you’ll get them that quickly x

I'm due to have the test. Have been told by the hospital that it's not necessary to stop HRT but I decided to anyway. Good luck with your test.

Not for years, but it was done at doctor's surgery in the morning. Couldn't stop crying - very weird. Test was abnormal. Wasn't on HRT or the pill and it wasn't mentioned.

I had it done .They took blood sample before injection .Than injection came in my upper right arm ( wasn’t that painful and iam always very anxious person ) than u wait for 30min than she takes another blood sample and than u go and sit again for 30min and she takes ur blood sample and u go home.i did through nhs and I rang myself to nhs Secretary and asked her my results.doctor rang me said all is good-no adissons basically it will show u if ur adrenals produce cortisol that’s all but this won’t tell you that u r in low reserve or just about .thats why salivia test is more accurate
