Hi ive had breathlessness with thyroid disease but also when ferritin levels are llow, maybe a idea to get them checked, also if you are overmedicated or under.🌟🌟
Elizabeth42,
It could be but it could also be due to low vitamins and minerals. If you post recent results and ranges for thyroid, ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate members will advise.
Possibly. If you post your latest test results, with their reference ranges, we can see if you are optimally medicated.
TSH
FT4
FT3
Thyroid antibodies
Also very useful
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin (fatigue and breathlessness can be due to low Ferritin)
You should also check with your GP just in case it's heart related.
I always get very out of breath when hypo/needing a dose increase. Climbing the stairs and even talking will cause shortness of breath.
I can't advise as I have only been diagnosed but can say I am out of breath more, and have palps which freak me out, I seem to have problems also when I lay down at night, they are hard to explain it's like my breathing is out of sync then I panic and make everything worse, or that's how it seems at the time.... my Ferritin came back normal and blood pressure ECG'S Have always been normal, it's like the breathlessness comes and goes....
Just to say i had dire ferritin levels and since supplementing with iron the breathless has improved but i get it when meds are not correct.😊😊
thanks guys for for all your messaged I'm at the moment only taking vitamin D so maybe I need to take more supplements , also I haven't got any of my blood test results because they wanted to charge me for them.

Iron can just be one of the reasons . Iron helped me with breathlessness climbing stairs and palpitations . I don't know if your on any thyroid meds but for me being on dosage that was too high was also causing me the same symptoms . If your on any thyroid meds it's great to get familiar with FT's results and if on any T3 meds it might lower your TSH significantly so don't worry . Dr's get scared from low TSH . Any Dr that doses you by TSH ONLY run don't walk . Get copies of your lab results and hold on to them so you have what to compare them to . Journal your symptoms . They are very telling .
When I was on levo. I became thyrotoxic as was not converting to T3; I could barely climb the stairs. (Even bare. :-)). Once I realised this, it took some time as brain had ceased to function, and reduced T4 and added T3 I was fine. My GP did not diagnose the problem.
how did you change to T3
