Thyroid after gastric bypass surgery

I had.the gastric bypass surgery March 26, 2007, which was very successful. I lost 152lbs in One year and kept it of religiously for 6 years, until during treatment for chronic headaches, I gained 7lbs 1 week, and that whole month gained 60lbs

This made me very nervous seeing as my food intake did not change. Took the docs 3months to tell me. I now had thyroid issue . How do you lose weight with thyroid issues.

Thought about going back to diet immediately after surgery, with soft foods

Can you add your thyroid test results and ranges

TSH, FT3 and FT4 plus thyroid antibodies

Also very important are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

As gastric bypass can cause nutrient deficiencies, presumably you take regular supplements and regularly tested anyway?

Most common is low B12

Might help if you said what treatment you received for chronic headaches.

For example, some medicines affect thyroid hormone levels.
