I find this quite interesting. Arginine is amino acid.

Interesting...

L-arginine gets mentioned by Dr Kendrick in several of his blog posts. His main interest is in the causes of heart disease.

He mentions supplements, including L-arginine, in this blog post :

(Note there is an addendum to that post :

drmalcolmkendrick.org/2018/... )

Nitric oxide also gets mentioned by Dr Kendrick - a lot more than L-arginine.

If you are interested in finding these posts there is a search box just before the Recent Posts list.

It isn't hard to believe that depression and heart disease could be linked by some of the same causes, such as low amino acids, low vitamins and low minerals. Since optimising some of my vitamins and minerals I have found my life-long depression has eased enormously.

Not long ago I read about the importance of amino acids.( I have known it and been on essential amino acids, but didn't stop to think. I recently ordered collagen hydrolase as it contains different amino acids.) But one reason why for example dogs have many illnesses could be lack of amino acids, muscle meat provides certain type but meat around bones is important too as well as organs ,too many dogs eat processed food lacking all amino acids. Same naturally applies to human beings.

I have understood that amino acids have big role in health.

Essential amino acids have helped me big time, unfortunately not the muscle issues they were supposed to!

But I feel better and my digestion is so much better. Together with iron, B12 and D3 I have improved a lot.

Thanks for links! I am very interested to understand and learn more about these things!

I found the connection to nitric oxide interesting. As a medicine nitric oxide has been reported to cause methemoglobinemia. Makes me wonder what the Arginine levels are in those with a predisposition to this condition. Some day pieces of the depression picture may fit together.

If you are tempted to take it, don't EVER let yourself taste the contents of the capsule. It tastes like rancid dog vomit. Also not good to take if you are prone to cold sores.

I have had the EAA as a powder without flavour and it tasted very interesting at first :D EAA powder has 11 different amino acids. I actually cried a bit drinking it as I chose product w/o flavour purposely and I needed to drink four glasses at first. Eventually I got used to it and it doesn't taste bad or more so I can tolerate the taste.

It's incredibly hard to find a product that doesn't have anything extra as it seems body builders who use it are sissies and need their protein drinks taste strawberries or apricots. Sigh.
