My 9 year old did not get out of bed untill 11 this morning and has not felt wellallday. He has been complaining about being too fat all day saying it is uncomfortable. he has now told me that he does not want to have to keep breathing as it is too much hard work to keep pushing his fat bellie up.Blood results all normal, good infact when last taken but no appetite, gaining weight, tired, constipated, losing hair and almostall of eyebrows, moonface, dry skin and unhappy.I know that there is very little that can be done at themomentand saving up for genetic test.Iwould wish this on my worst enemy let along my lovely boy. I havehad flu so maybe thats making him feel worse.

Mandyjane,
Has GP checked cortisol?
Thanks clutter.I will bemaking alist of tests I would like the GP to do for Perran soon. He goes berserk when he has to have blood taken and it took us 2 hours tocalm him down enought to get him in a taxi to go home last time. So I can imagine it will be really high due to distress. I could do saliva test but if doctors wont accept as valid maybe no point I will talk to GP.
Thanks Clutter you amaze me with your ability to answer so many of all our posts.
Try to find out if he has been subject to name calling at school as well. If that's the case school need to know and stop it happening.
He is homeschooled silver fox definatley not well enough for school. Not even well enough to play in thepark a lot of the time. I have sent him out with freinds several times and hadto go to rescue cause his freinds have come back to tell me he is lying on the grass crying becuase hs legs hurt
Am sure you have covered testing for the basics - B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD. Aching legs could be anaemia - so common nowadays ....
Dear Marz,
Vit B12 have been supplementing, ferritin was a bit low but saw a peditrician who is inot enviremental medicine who advisedworming him which Imust do andwill ordersome stuff to dstay. She recommended so much stuff that I have been really over whelmed by it all financiallyand practically. Thanks forreminding me though I will seeing if Ican get someworming stuff on amazon. She said that low iron in children is often due to unseen worms and that if you give iron the worms breed like mad and you get a muchworse problem after. So he does need someiron but worming first. Iwillask for folate to be tested on my list for doctor. Hs vit D has been fine and Igive him vitd andk2 spray. He does have thyroid issues. I would put my life on it so dont expect iron will cure theproblems but may help a bit. Weboth have somekindof thyroid resistance and Iam saving for genetic test but imagine it is yet undiscoverred and unlike in the1930s when we would have both been treated we have toprove our need with a moderndiagnostic technique rather than doctors being allowed to just treat the obvious. Thank you Marz.
Mandyjane ~ I so hope your poor boy will recover soon ~ such a struggle with financial constraints ~ we all have to be millionaires to regain our health in this corrupt system. GP should be leaving no stone unturned in finding answers ~ they're useless! Good job he has you to care for him, I'm sure you will get to the bottom of it. So stressful though.......
Good luck and stay strong x
PS if it's threadworms that are suspected, remember the whole house has to be thoroughly cleaned (more stress, sorry), and all members of the household have to be treated at the same time, all beds changed, etc. it seems the eggs live in house dust and re infection is common. Apologies for being boring if you know all this or it isn't threadworms, just trying to save you time in the long run, so he can start his iron ASAP x
Thanks.Yes will all need to be wormed. Thank you Mamma pea your understanding much appreciated.
