Amethyst8,

I don't think so. They can be due to low magnesium. Try supplementing magnesium citrate, spray the affected muscles with magnesium oil spray and take Epsom Salts baths to relax muscles.

Ok thought it was thyroid. Also puffy eyes and hard stool and feeling cold. Probably not thyroid either. Thanks

Amethyst8,

If you post your recent thyroid results and ranges I can tell you whether or not you are optimally dosed.

TSH 50.6 (0.2 - 4.2)

FT4 10.1 (12 - 22)

Amethyst8,

You have overt primary hypothyroidism. Hasn't your practice told you you need a Levothyroxine prescription?

How long ago did you have these tests done? If GP has not contacted you then you need to make an urgent appointment to get thyroid medication prescribed. Your GP should start you on 50mcg unless you are very frail, young or have a heart condition and you should book to retest your bloods in 6 weeks time and increase dose and so on until TSH is around 1 or a little lower which is where most people feel well. Ask you GP to test your vitamin levels too. B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D. YOu need them all optimal for thyroid hormone to function well. When you've seen the doctor, post again on this forum for advice on how to take your thyroid meds. Doctors rarely give advice on this it seems.

Those three are very classic thyroid symptoms. Almost all hypothyroid people will have them.

No surprise seeing your blood results. They strongly indicate you're hypothyroid, and I'd expect you to feel very unwell with those out of range numbers!

I get muscle cramps when hypo/under-dosed.
