Tanya am on a ndt & I always leave a 24hr gap before my blood test, Take your meds after the blood test. Dont eat until after the bloods are drawn.

8-12 hours for anything with t3 in it 🙂

I agree with fibrolinda, 12 hours is usually advised, no more. 24 hours is for Levo only.

My perspective is that it would depend who & what the test is for. If it is for your NHS Gp etc, then I would go with the advice given by others as there is a risk your Dr may try and reduce your dose inappropriately if they are not knowledgeable.

If however the test is just for your own use, you are in control of your own dosing, and will be testing freeT3 , freeT4 as well as TSH, then it is worth considering testing about 4 or 5 hours after taking your last dose. That way you will find out what your absolute maximum freeT3 & freeT4 blood levels are, and whether there is any scope for an increase whilst keeping your maximum FreeT3 & FreeT4 levels within range.
