This is Marti's husband. I am posting on behalf of her to say she has been admitted to hospital after suffering a lot of bleeding; her ferritin was in single figures.
Apparently her GP was arranging to discuss this with her and investigate - a call was issued to discuss yesterday at 11:30am and the GP never got back to her at all.
She also has severely uncontrollable Hashimotos which has never stabilised.
I am not sure when or if she will be out of hospital but I will post if I know more or when or if she will be able to do so herself.
Thank you

You must be very worried indeed and MartiJ hopefully will be home soon.
Doctors appear to be completely unaware how unwell patients are when not on a proper dose of thyroid hormones. If patient isn't improving on a particular one they should offer alternative.
Excess bleeding can occur if we've got a hypo problem but with hashi's it is compounded by the thyroid antibodies attacking the gland and they wax and wane. Sometimes patient feels very hyper and other times hypo.
I hope they test TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 as well. Rarely do the frees get tested but they are important. Both FT3 and FT4 should be in the upper part of the range.
So very sorry to hear this, I hope they get to the bottom of her problem. I have just replied on her other thread about obtaining test results from your surgery, something to do when she is home and in a better position.
Please let us know how things are going, if you need any help tjere are many knowledgeable members here to offer suggestions.
