today my hands were good no itch no pain

went shopping and by the time we got half way through my hand was painful and itchy

whats the chances of it being something with the trolley i was pushing?

im going to start taking antibacterial wipes and hand gel

Mandy72,

If you use a shopping trolley every day try wearing gloves instead of using antibacterial wipes which may be an irritant. Shopping trolley doesn't explain why you had the itchiness etc. on your foot though.

thats very true, im thinking the trainers i got just dont agree with my feet as ive gone back to flip flops and had no more problems apart from cold feet

Do you think the itch is caused by pressure? I had an itch that kept recurring with pressure, for example, pushing the hoover, holding gardening implements and yes, pushing a shopping trolley. It went away when I changed levothyroxine to a different type.

it could be pressure related but ive had it come up on the tips of my fingers

its really weird because it will be in one spot for a few days then will move

drs are stumped

Have you tried switching to a different Levothyroxine for a couple of weeks.

Mandy, what does the itchy skin look like? Does it, by any chance, look like there are tiny fluid filled bubbles on it?

Have you heard of 'granuloma annulare' it is a skin condition linked to hypothyroidism the mechanism not understood by clinicians. I am not offering this as a diagnosis but have suffered from it periodically, had mine confirmed by an NHS dermatologist. The bad news is that there is little treatment for it however it does help sometimes to know what is causing your irritations!

never heard of it but just googled and the redness i get is a solid patch, painful and extremely itchy

It might help but have you tried aloe Vera or frankincense oil mixed half and half with coconut oil

i was thinking of getting some coconut oil and trying that but could look for something to add to it, i was thinking maybe tea tree oil as ive used that for another skin problem i have and it worked wonders
