For crimple Angel_of_the_North SlowDragon and everyone interested in lancets.
Introducing Lego Lisa the Lancet Lab tech!
FYI, we hit the lancets with a hammer and extracted the blades (do not attempt this at home!) pic shows on the left the BDblue lancet and on the right the newer lancet we use.
We still have stock of the BDblue lancets so if you would like them let us know when you request a kit.
Both penetrate to a depth of 2.2mm, but the BDblue have a wider blade which will result in more capillaries being damaged. Statistically we have found there is no difference in success rates between the 2 lancets - but everyone is an individual and has different experiences. If you would like the BD lancets then (you are braver than I am) just ask and we can include instead of the newer ones!
Best wishes
Paul.

No wonder I gave up. I get private blood draw at hospital now.
I read somewhere that it may be something to do with taking vitamin K2 that blood is reluctant to leave? Or it's probably just us hypo's are always too cold, too sluggish.
I had the same problem until I stared taking ginkgo biloba, thinned my blood enough for me to easily get sample 😀 Then switched to Tumeric to reduce inflammation (halved my crp level 😃) and this too made it easy to fill 2 vials last time. No need for a plaster when finished, just pressed antiseptic swab against it for a few seconds and it stopped. Still hurt like blazes for a couple of days mind 😪
