Hi I am new, I'm 29 years old and take 25mcg levo. I have symptoms of ears ringing, goitre, dry skin, feeling cold with sweats, eyes feeling heavy, tiredness, feeling wired, aches in bones. I feel really undermedicated but with the sweats will they get worse or better if I increase? Diagnosed 2011 thankyou

Struggling
We are having so many similar posts these last few days of people on such a low dose of thyroid hormones like you, at a ridiculous 25mcg. Why on earth do doctors think that 25mcg will raise thyroid hormones to optimal?
It is time you took your own health into your own hands as the dose of 25mcg is a starting dose and every six weeks thereafter a 25mcg rise in dose until you are symptom-free and feel well.
Request a new blood test and ask for a Full Thyroid Hormone Blood test, i.e. TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
All blood tests have to be at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take dose afterwards.
If GP or lab wont do all of the above you can get those not tested through one of the private labs.
Medichecks or Blue Horizon do home pin-prick tests.
Your symptoms are highly likely to be due to very low vitamins as you are so very under medicated
Ask GP to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Why on earth has GP not increased dose.?
The standard starter dose is 50mcgs. With bloods retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase. Dose increased in 25mcg steps until TSH is around one and FT4 towards top of range and FT3 at least half way in range
Do you know if you have high thyroid antibodies? This is Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease.
Get copies of your last thyroid test results and post them on here for advice
Will post results now
Never been on more than 25mcg
