Hi, I have recently started levothyroxine (50mg) and do not seem to be ovulating, does anyone know if is this a common side effect?

Levothyroxine and ovulation
Hypothyroidism can cause anovulation (failure to ovulate) directly, or by causing elevation in another hormone, prolactin. If you have only recently begun supplementing the hormones produced by your underactive thyroid with synthetic T4 aka levothyroxine, you may not yet have reached the optimum dose required to bring you to a state of being euthyroid. Whilst you wait for more detailed responses, you should post all your latest blood results together with their reference ranges, so that members can comment.
You should be retested after 6-8 weeks. 50mcg is a starter dose. Should be retested and increased in 25mcg steps until TSH is around one and FT4 towards top of range and FT3 at least half way in range
What was blood test results before you started on Levo?
Have you had thyroid antibodies tested? This is to diagnose is caused by autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto's. (About 90% of hypothyroidism is due to autoimmune issues)
What about vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12, have these been tested?
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results
