Fasting is important because eating at breakfast can affect the TSH value when blood is taken later. You want the appropriate baseline TSH early in the morning because at other times it can very enormously and should never be done say in the afternoon or evening. It isn't so important for FT4 and FT3, but since at the moment TSH is often the only test done, you have to take precautions.
The lovely ppl on hear know what they're talking about and they told me to fast that's how you get the best result. Drs don't even tell us to fast. I'd say fast hun that's how your going to get the best result. 💗🤗😘
ya okie.. I really can't wait few more weeks to get the appointment for test if I mess up with this one.. I am going to ignore what receptionist says and go on fasting..I know people here have more experience and they know more than people in GP.. Thanks for that..
luv2017 Fasting, earliest appointment of the morning and leaving off Levo for 24 hours are patient to patient tips, no need to discuss any of it with your doctor or phlebotomist as they will usually disagree, as you've found out
