Splitting titration dose etc.

Hi all ive been on carbimazole 10mg titration dose for 2 weeks now and feel RUBBISH. I had been taking it in the morning x2 tablets straight together- i have decided to take a split dose to see if this makes a difference, this maybe a sissy question but will i notice any difference straight away taking it like this? Also do you think 10mgs im still overmedicated? I would have thought i would start to see a improvement after 2 weeks but infact its worse. I was going to give the meds another week or so befire getting blood done but im going tomorrow 8am instead.thanks as always.xx😠

I'm not knowledgable on carbimazole but I believe it has a 3 to 6 hour half-life and so it would make sense to split the dose so that you get more even treatment. I would contact the doctor who prescibed it and inform them of your symptoms. They should have told you whether you should split the dose. (You could also check with the pharmacist who dispensed the tablets for their advice - a free second opinion).

Thankyou fir your advice but my doc is as knowledgable as a 5 yearvold on thyroid conditions but have been told if you are taking carbimazole under 20mgs then you should split dose. I am goin to get bloods done tomorrow and start titrating myself every 2 weeks to see how i feel and to get the dose right for me. Thankyou.x😊
