Hello, I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism in the last week after being told three times in the last year that my thyroid was normal but my TSH levels were abnormal. I have been told very little of what to expect by my GP. for the last year I have become very sluggish and want to sleep most of the time and my memory is shot to pieces. I have also really struggled with bad lower back pain and what I thought was carpel tunnel syndrome which is the reason I went back to my GP. it is only now that a new doctor has re tested me. this site has really helped to shine some light on the condition for me. as well as the usual symptoms I have had stomach problems with certain foods. is this also a symptom?. my doctor informs me that my thyroid is inactive and that my TSH level is 40. I have been taking levo for seven days now and feel awful. I've read lots of posts about when and what not to eat. I also suffer from acid reflux but the advice is not to take proton pump inhibitors within three hours of taking Levo. this is also a massive issue for me. the doctor did a second blood test but I am in the dark over this as yet. any advice is greatly appreciated.

Low stomach acid can be an issue

Lots of posts on here about how to improve with Apple cider vinegar or Betaine HCL
