hi, i have been taking levothyroxine for about 2 years now 75ug daily. the only real symptoms i had before was the unbelievable amount of time i wanted to sleep. now on paper my results are normal.

my question is i am now showing elevated amylase results of 109 (pancreas) and i have just been diagnosed as having moderate atrophic gastritis.

have any other members out there have experience of thyroid affecting your pancreas and stomach.

Eliz17,

'Normal' is a very broad range for thyroid. What are your results and ranges? If you have results and ranges for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate post them too as atrophic gastritis can cause malabsorption which can cause deficiencies.

I believe there is a connection between atrophic gastritis and hypothyroidism but I'm not aware of any conncection between thyroid and pancreas.
