RAI treatment

I have been told that when I go back to my endo in January he will most likely suggest radiation as you never go into remission twice. Is that good information? I was in remission for 6 years until 4 weeks or so ago.

Once you have relapsed it's likely to happen again. I opted for RAI and all good since.

Thanks bantam12

I just feel like I want a second chance as it was 3 consecutive stressful events that led to the relapse and I had returned to eating sugar and diet soda the last few years. I'm now back on track confident I can maintain a healthy diet and manage my stress better longterm this time. well I will talk this over with him in January :) Cait

Cait58,

Your endo can't insist on you having RAI or thyroidectomy if you are comfortable taking Carbimazole. Carbimazole can be taken for years if required. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/286...
