10 weeks ago I was Diagnosed hypothyroid and put on 50mcg Levothyroxine, my ferritin was also low at 8.8.
Next week I have my first set of repeat bloods and I just want to ask exactly what tests I should ask the nurse to do??
Thanks

You need (ideally)
TSH
FT4
FT3
TT4
TPO antibodies
TG antibodies
Vitamin D
Folate
Ferritin
B12
Very unlikely to get all, especially FT3 (the most important) or TG antibodies
If you can't get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results
If the vitamin levels are too low (eg your ferritin) we can't use the thyroid hormones, so you remain hypo, but blood tests show plenty of thyroid in blood.

Hi ,
Thanks for your reply.
My test is at 9.15am which is the earliest I could get cos of school runs I have to do first. I won't take my meds until after the appt, I'll be about 26hrs post meds when I go.
I'm taking 400mcg ferrous sulphate a day for my ferritin. Gp said buy iron from the supermarket but that gave me headaches so I looked around and found I could buy ferrous sulphate over the pharmacy counter without prescription.
After about 6 weeks of taking Levothyroxine I started to feel better but this last week I've felt really tired and crap all over again like I did at first.
Any advice you can offer is most welcome. I'll take the list to the nurse and ask her to ask for all that they will test.
Thanks
