I have PCOS due to hair growth on face, would I need treatment for it? GP told me not to bother. Thanks

Sorry, didn't mean to double post. I just don't know why my symptoms are getting ignored and when the GP said my results are of PCOS she said they were only slightly out and not to bother getting treated. Thanks

I don't understand what your doctor meant when she said your results were only slightly out. What results was she referring to?

There might be a PCOS forum who can help you with this aspect.

She meant the FSH and LH levels. Testosterone was only just within range but near the top

Your doctor appears to be a numpty, and I'm being very polite tonight.

Have a look through this website, it might help re your PCOS pcosaa.org/is-there-a-cure-...

I think I would be asking your doctor why there are ranges if she's going to ignore them.

The fact that you are posting here means you are bothered so demand treatment.

The reason the GP is saying you don't need treatment is to save the practice money it is not about what is best for your health.

If you are of child bearing age and want to have children you must have treatment now - refuse to get fobbed off as not treating you will leave you at a greater risk of infertility than you already are.

Please follow the links others have posted.

Losing weight will help if you need to, but some people can have PCOS when they’re a normal weight. Having said that I’m not convinced that PCOS isn’t just the new buzz word for irregular cycles, abnormal endocrine results and them really not knowing what the heck is going on!

It really depends which one of the symptoms you’re most concerned with, if it’s infertility then inositol and dchiro inositol is very good, it also helps regulate insulin which in turn regulates other hormones. Have you just come off the birth pill as that plays havoc with your fsh and lh levels for several months afterwards?

Our yd took the inositols plus vitex, vitamin C, vitamin d3 and K2 plus a pregnacare conception. She’s been ttc for 11 months but she’s recently got her positive pregnancy test 3 months after starting the supplements above, coincidence maybe but her last blood tests showed a vast improvement in everything, even her thyroid had gone from 3.54 to just over 1. Whether it is because the pill had worked it’s way out of her system or the supplements did something im not sure, but whatever reason she’s over the moon as we all are!

Good luck x
